Completed Construction!

We have finally completed construction on our beautiful buildings!

After 3 years of planning and building we now have a performance hall to seat 435, complete with green rooms, a conference hall for 75 with catering facilities, a dance studio with a sprung dance floor, and our special drum building with our offices, a small conference room, video and sound editing space, a gift shop and exhibition space from Tanzanian instruments.

We are finishing off the landscaping, and busy constructing our traditional village, which will have Maasai, Arusha, Meru and Chagga bomas for visitors to learn about the life of different Tanzanian ethnic groups.

Our opening concert showcased the lecturers in the music department (with special guests) performing chamber music for students in the university. A busy programme is planned to try out the space with a range of other music styles from traditional ngoma, classical music, Tanzanian fusion music, and even Western indie music with the Danish band Total Hip Replacement on tour in Tanzania in November.

You are very welcome to visit, and please keep an eye on the website/social media for a full calendar of events.
