CAC performs at 2018 Sauti za Busara Festival in Zanzibar. The newly recorded CD vol. 1 will also be sold at the event.

The US Embassy in Tanzania Chargé d’Affaires Inmi Patterson and other embassy officers visited the Cultural Arts Centre on Monday 7 August 2017. She toured the facilities and watched a performance by the CAC Dance Team.
The tour of the facilities took her around all the CAC building, including the Drum Building.
The other buildings that she toured include the Conference and Dance Studio.
The furniture is inside the Conference Building.

Group from America Experiences African Culture
CAC exists to promote and preserve our cultural heritage. Recently, a group from America spent the whole day exploring different aspects of African culture. Activities included touring the facilities, Kiswahili and Tanzanian culture lessons, traditional drum-making, eating traditional food plus drumming and dancing to traditional music!
We started with the familiarization tour of the CAC facilities.
The group had basic Kiswahili lesson.
They also learned some facts about Tanzanian culture.
Traditional drum making is a process which involves several stages.
Drumming the rhythmic patterns of Africa!
The group did an excellent job of drumming the rhythmic patterns of Africa!
Ugali is a staple food of Tanzania.
The dance studio was the perfect setting for this group's dance lessons!
Traditional Wamasai and Waarusha bomas within the CAC compound offer a unique insight into these cultures!

CAC dancers were professionally trained by both inhouse and consulting teams in various performance and professional skills.

This grand piano was generously donated by friends in the United States of America under coordination of Dr. Abe Caceres of World House Music, North Carolina. It is probably the third grand piano at a university in Africa.

CAC Programme Manager smiles as he listens to the sounds of the grand piano that was donated to Tumaini University Makumira by generous friends in the United States of America.
This concert grand piano is probably the third in a university in Africa, and was donated to Tumaini University Makumira by friends from the United States of America. Its permanent home is in the Performance Theatre of the CAC. Special thanks to the World House Music and all the donors who made this possible.
Randy Stubbs, CAC Programme Manager, plays the grand piano for the first time after it arrived from the United States of America. The piano is a gift from generous friends of the Music Department in America.
The piano (Randy Stubbs) and clarinet (Gary Sperl) music was part of the Chamber Music concert.
Another piece of music featured the Oboe (Jennifer Bernard), Flute (Claire Hollis) and Piano (Randy Stubbs).
